Vacation Photography, Part 4. {Finale!}

Here we are!

For the final post in this short series. This might end up being the longest…but I don’t know for sure. We were visiting some friends…this post has water, miniature ponies,Β azaleas, and swinging. Plus some more randomness.

IMG_8003.jpg
At this moment I am digging texture photos…remember the brick? πŸ˜€

IMG_8029.jpg

My bother got all wet in the creek and then wanted a photo with this miniature horse. My brother isn’t very tall, btw. πŸ˜€
IMG_8075.jpg
Aren’t they cute?
IMG_8085.jpg
I love this vertical shot!
IMG_8100.jpg
This cracks me up! A nice size comparison. πŸ˜‰
IMG_8107.jpg
Oh, and I forgot to mention the ducks!
IMG_8114.jpg
And they were all happy…until my brother chased them. πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜€
IMG_8122.jpg
Bro and sis on the swing. BTW, they aren’t concerned. They were laughing right after this shot was taken.Β

I got mom to pose for a picture. Happy Mother’s Day, btw. My only regret is the cup she’s holding. I was so eager, I overlooked it πŸ˜‰ . I do like the diverse background though.Β

Going home I shot pictures from the windows.

That’s a wrap, folks.

I hope you enjoyed this little four-part series. I could have added tons more than I did…but my memory is really getting small now.

Vacation Photography, Part 2.

Here’s part two!

We got to visit our dear childhood friends again on this day. I didn’t take many pictures that I liked here (because talking sometimes is more important than taking pictures πŸ˜€ ).

IMG_7656.jpg
They had a hanging planter with these pretty pink flowers.Β

And they had just gotten some chicks and baby ducklings. They were so cute! I photographed the ducklings.

IMG_7662.jpg

IMG_7664.jpg
In this one it looks like the left one is laughing! I desaturated this one for a more subdued look. The green was more overwhelming in the original.

And then I took a nice rule-of-thirds photo of their fence.

IMG_7682.jpg
I love the f/1.8 selective focus of this one.

Then we went to my Aunt and Uncle’s house and I went for a moody photography feel. Pretty much all black and white. πŸ˜‰

IMG_7743.jpg

IMG_7750.jpg

IMG_7754.jpg
And I know this is nothing like my normal shallow depth photos. I guess I’m trying to expand my horizons.Β
IMG_7757.jpg
I love brick walls! #colornexttime

IMG_7761.jpg

IMG_7775.jpg
My sweet little sis and our cousin, Emmett.Β

And then some pine cones for a rustic look.

IMG_7788.jpg

IMG_7789.jpg
And closer up.

And then I almost missed this special cousin-bonding moment. My brother and cousin Steven were playing by the playground. So I snuck up and framed them with a bush πŸ˜€ .

IMG_7801.jpg

And this is my Aunt and Uncle’s chihuahua–Chica. I like her a lot. She’s actually a nice dog.

IMG_7823.jpg
I used a filter that’s in the manual mode #manualisthebest .Β

And that’s it for part two!

p.s–Don’t forget to join me next time for part three! πŸ˜€

Vacation Photography, Part 1.

Hello, friends!

First off, I have not permanently vanished. I am still alive and kicking/breathing. But I have a mountain of vacation photos to share. Today is part one of the vacation pictures. All of this is photography stuff…lifestyle is always on the Misty Mountain (except for right now as I’m on break there due to time πŸ™‚ ).

First off this photo that I took of a sweet young lady holding a rose. I used the gold side of my new reflector (I got it!!!!)…and after fixing the white balance in Photo Director…it made it look rose gold. I love the lighting look honestly. πŸ™‚

IMG_7573-1.jpg
She looks like Belle (or beauty!).Β

The first thing I photographed on vacation was this soft orangish blue sunset. I have been waiting to photograph a sunset like this.

IMG_7589.jpg

Oh, and here is the ‘after sunset’ photo for comparison. So much grain…but that’s okay. πŸ˜€

IMG_7626.jpg

And then I went to the peony flowers (one of my favorite flowers.)…and took photos of them. I had to up the light just a pinch because it was somewhat dark. πŸ˜€

IMG_7598.jpg
Thankfully, brightening a picture can be done easily in post processing.Β
IMG_7605.jpg
And some cure little peony buds!

Then to the rose bushes!

IMG_7615.jpg

IMG_7620.jpg

And the day ended with a shot of the moon.

IMG_7649.jpg
Not overly impressive…but this is how it looked.

New Editor= Image Changes

Guys…photo director 3 is #nice !

I love it.

There are more practical uses…like this photo:

IMG_6284 (2017_04_18 03_06_52 UTC)

And more fun editing to do like in this photo:

IMG_6298 (2017_04_18 03_06_52 UTC).jpg
I mean, look at those eyes!

Then there are just nice settings to improve white balance and softening. Like in this image:IMG_7171.jpg

All in all…it’s been a ride.

I do acknowledge that this sort of editor COULD make one lazy. But I refuse to be that type of person when it comes to editing. I still prefer quality from my camera…I only like basic editing for my actual photography stuff.

Day, Twilight, Golden Hour, Sunset, & Night~

Today I am sharing some of my recentest photography from five stages of a day.

Day, Golden Hour (2nd), Twilight, Sunset, and Night.

I am excited to be finally doing a ‘stages of the day’ post. So here we go.

p.s. This isn’t the kind of post I can keep to my ‘just 5 pictures’ rule. πŸ˜€

Day~

FREELENSING!!!!

IMG_7046.JPG
Freelensing is nice because I don’t have either a close-up or a macro lens (next lens, anybody?).Β
IMG_7044
Freelensing, too!

Back to the normal digital photos!

Golden Hour~

Just a few quick golden hour photos with my sis Ellie πŸ™‚ .

Twilight~

So twilight sort of gives you a blueish lighting. It’s between golden hour and sunset. You’d be surprised at how fast it comes after golden hour and then how fast sunset runs on the heels of twilight!

IMG_6857.JPG

IMG_6861.JPG

IMG_6863.JPG

This is legit guys, not a white balance problem.

Sunset~

I have sunsets from two days. They are extremely different from one another. The first is fiery and cloudy (right after a tornado warning came for our area!), and the second is what I call “rainbow lighting”.

IMG_6878.JPG
These last two were the ‘rainbow lighting’ ones.Β

Night~

And that is a wrap!

But wait…

Don’t go yet…

I have a surprise for you…

Haha! Gotcha’. πŸ˜€

That cute, furry little (gulp) guy was found in one of the bedrooms. He was so HUGE. And scary. And hairy…ew. πŸ˜›

Sunset and Bokeh

img_3667

“There’s never one sunrise the same or one sunset the same.”

~Carlos Santana

I am so very behind on posts. I have about three posts besides this waiting to go. I will catch up…sometime πŸ˜‰ . Right before I was going to post I came upon this quote:

“The biggest cliche in photography is sunrise and sunset.”

~Catherine Opie

So I felt wonderful about myself for posting this lovely photography cliche πŸ™‚ . But really, sunsets (and sunrises) are so beautiful and a huge testimony to the creativity of our Creator. So I don’t feel bad posting this at all. πŸ˜›

img_3668-001

Sorry it’s so much of the same thing. But at least it’s pretty, right ❀ ?

All the Stars

“Keep your eyes on the stars, and your feet on the ground.”

~Theodore Roosevelt

Finally *triumphant drumroll*…I actually managed to get okay star photos.

Just click on the individual images to see their fuller versions! The very last photo was taken at a random place a few months ago for y’alls comparison. I feel like I am starting to figure out the manual focus as it relates to stars. The bothersome thing is that you can only see a teensy little bit when it’s dark. πŸ™‚ πŸ˜‰ 😦

cropped-logomakr_5mgrre.png

“It’s just another night
And I’m staring at the moon
I saw a shooting star
And thought of you
I sang a lullaby
By the waterside and knew
If you were here,
I’d sing to you
You’re on the other side
As the skyline splits in two
I’m miles away from seeing you
I can see the stars
From America
I wonder, do you see them, too?”

~Ed Sheeran,Β All the Stars
